Get to know one of Dallas’ Best Kept Secrets

The City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department is proud to operate a state-of-the-art indoor swimming pool on the shores of Bachman Lake.  Rennovated in 2008, Bachman Indoor Pool is open to the public and offers a wide variety of classes and fitness programs for people of all abilities from children to seniors.

A Complete Renovation

Bachman Pool’s most recent renovation was not just a face lift, it was a total rebuild! The entire pool and spa shell was replaced and the pool was reconfigured to accommodate a new ADA entrance ramp. The locker rooms including a family restroom were completely redone and feature individual showers and changing areas. Ultraviolet sanitation was added to the pool and spa offering swimmers state of the art protection from recreational waterborne illnesses.

You really have to see the facilities to understand the dramatic makeover that has taken place at Bachman Indoor Swimming Pool, so we invite you to come out and take a look at your earliest convenience! We’ll give you a guided tour of the new facilities and a complete rundown of all the new features.

Helping Dallas youth learn to swim: The Teach a Child to Swim scholarship program

Drowning is the second leading cause of injury death of infants and children younger than 15 years old in the U.S. For every child who drowns, four children are hospitalized for near-drowning. Unfortunately, many families cannot afford the cost of swim lessons. You Can Help.

Donate to the Scholarship Fund

The Dallas Park and Recreation Department offers low cost swim lessons at locations throughout the city. For only $40, you can help us teach a child to swim. Your $40 donation will fund a two week session of swim lessons for one child. Swimming is a skill every child should learn. Swimming adds fun and fitness to a child’s life, and most importantly, may one day save their life.
